Lodging Score: 5.5/10

Review:

Let’s just put it this way – it’s a great place for when you’re in a pinch. Our last minute decision to hit the road made it difficult to find camp spots, especially around the 4th of July holiday. We decided to hunker down at a spot through the holiday before moving forward on our trip and the Douglas County Fairgrounds had a space available for us.

Positives:

  • Easy access off the I-5
  • Although it was off the Interstate, it wasn’t loud
  • Close to town
  • A day trip to Crater Lake National Park
  • We didn’t do it, but they say fishing it pretty good in the area
  • Inexpensive place to stay ($28/night for water and electric)
  • Dump station on-site
  • Easy online booking
  • Mobile RV service available in the area

Negatives:

  • No shade
  • No WiFi
  • Verizon cell service was spotty
  • The property looked neglected
